Okay – did you find out what this was? I have it in one of my plants too… I figured I should quit my job and become a “penis farmer”. Women everywhere would thank me for it I’m sure.
My mom has the same fungus from her mulch it is called Stinkhorn fungus.
From what i can find out, they don’t seem to pose a threat (unless they smell bad….wouldn’t know, can’t smell). Also, i don’t think there’s an easy way to get rid of them. Somebody said coffee, but i’m not taking the chance. The last thing i need is a hyperactive plant. (ever seen Day of the Trifids?)
I say, just be glad they’re cute little weiners and not Dog Vomit Slime mold.
